Marketing & Communications Manager
Summary of Role
The Marketing & Communications Manager drives the execution and optimization of Spirit Rock’s digital marketing efforts across email, organic social, paid social, and influencer partnerships. This role combines data-driven growth marketing with mission-aligned storytelling to drive program enrollment, increase retreat participation, and expand audience reach.
In close collaboration with the Director of Marketing & Communications, this position owns day-to-day channel performance, emphasizing data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement, and partners with the Director on overall marketing strategy, website optimization, and SEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize and execute integrated campaigns across email, organic social, and paid social channels to drive enrollment, retreat occupancy, and engagement.
- Own email marketing strategy, including segmentation, list management, automation, testing, and performance optimization
- Set social media strategy and oversee execution across platforms (Meta, YouTube, LinkedIn, Threads).
- Build relationships and create campaigns with mission-aligned influencers to expand reach and attract new audiences
- Plan and manage paid social campaigns, including budget allocation, targeting, and performance optimization
- Analyze performance across email and social channels, translating insights into actionable improvements
- Collaborate with internal teams to align marketing campaigns with program, fundraising, and engagement goals
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, with a strong focus on email, social media, and influencer marketing
- Proven success leading integrated digital campaigns and driving measurable growth (e.g., conversions, engagement, audience acquisition)
- Experience managing or mentoring team members, with the ability to provide clear direction and feedback
- Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform strategy and optimize performance
- Hands-on experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp) and social media management tools
- Experience in planning and executing paid social campaigns, including audience targeting and budget management
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a strong attention to brand voice and tone
- Proficiency in AP and Chicago style, with experience applying both in a professional setting
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with key tools such as Asana, Canva, Hootsuite, Google Workspace, and social platforms (Meta, YouTube, LinkedIn, Threads)
- Alignment with Spirit Rock’s mission and values; interest in mindfulness, meditation, or contemplative practice strongly preferred.
Compensation:
Employment Status: Full-time (37.5 hours/week) / exempt
Schedule: 5 days/week; three days/week on-site
Compensation: $95,500 - $100,000/year
