Facilities Maintenance Technician
Employment Status: Full-time (37.5 hours/week) / non-exempt
Schedule: Monday - Friday; occasional overtime and weekend work
Compensation: $27 - $31 per hour

Summary of Job:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician supports the ongoing operations of Spirit Rock retreats, events, and classes. This position performs regular maintenance and repair for all of Spirit Rock’s facilities and vehicles.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Complete maintenance and repair projects as assigned
- Fully participate in support of the logistics for retreats and events (event set-up, breakdown, and maintenance needs)
- Maintain tools and equipment inventory
- Assist the Facilities Manager in ensuring that there are sufficient supplies/inventory on hand to fulfill job duties
- Partner with other facilities team members and other staff on the emergency preparedness programs
- Recommend repairs or improvements to the Facilities Manager that support retreat operations or maintain workplace safety as a priority.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Three years’ + experience in a similar position(s)
- Demonstrated knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and painting
- Have a valid CA driver’s license (Driving histories are checked for insurance purposes. Successful candidates will be asked to bring an MVR.)
- An ability to work on multiple projects at one time
- Work with minimum direct supervision and operate effectively on a team
- Proficiency with computers and related software and technology, including WindowsOS/MS Office and Google Docs
Working Conditions:
- This workweek is 37.5 hours, but this position will require working outside the regular workweek and overtime on occasion.
- Ability to work outdoors, including exposure to seasonal weather conditions
- Ability to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods, including walking up and down stairs, ladders, and hillsides
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform moderately difficult manipulative tasks
- Ability to communicate clearly on a telephone and a walkie-talkie
- This position will be exposed to chemical substances typical of maintenance and janitorial work
- Must be able to regularly speak and write in English
- Specific vision abilities required are close vision, middle-distance vision, and color visio
